Aizkustinoša ziņa un skarba vēstule Krievijas postcrosseriem no Ukrainas
On 23 February, I had a postcrossing profile and enjoyed my hobby. On 24 February, I was woken up by the sounds of explosions when the russian army bombed the airport 3 km from my home. As I am writing this, a week passed, and thousands of civilian Ukrainians were killed, lost homes or their loved ones. Millions fled the country. They are killing children, they don't care.
I hope my baby boy will live in a better world. I hope my husband and I will live to see how he grows up.
I used to sign my cards and thank-you-notes with "Love from Ukraine, Halya"
P.S. To all russian postcrossers, stop repeating the mantra that you are sorry and out of politics. Hypocrites. I am not a politician myself - does that help me when I am spending the night in a cold basement with my baby? Children shot, orphaned, displaced were out of politics too - did that save them? You ARE responsible. Aren't you a taxpayer? You are financing this war. YOU are responsible for the actions of your government because YOU elected them, YOU let this happen. And it's only YOU who is responsible for what is going to happen to your family and country. Hope you enjoy postcrossing.
